I have entered this piece in the Paris Showdown, apparently the top 128 entrants are able to enter the physical work into the Paris exhibition so fingers crossed, would love to show Parassita there. Experimenting with masked out shapes and bird forms. I have included the sketch and mid point work on this piece to give an idea of development.
Tomorrow I’ll be heading to Rich Mix Arts and Cultural centre on bethnal green road with Showcase London to display some of my new works. Working on a new piece at the moment but gotta break to go get some frames soon – here’s where it’s at…
Wasn’t aware of this geometrical design until today – going to use it as the starting point for 2 new pieces 1 small and one large quadrant piece to work alongside closer.
I have photographed this piece with the inks still wet, this is exactly the effect that I am achieving working with Harwood King using varnish layers on the prints.. it helps to give a real vibrancy to the colour.
Finished work on the 1 metre square piece Closer, was a challenge working both in a quadrant format and also at that scale in pen ink and of course tea.
Closer illustrates our connection to nature as a two way relationship, our dependency and our appreciation
Work in progress a new larger scale piece of work, whereby I am returning to concentrate on the underlying drawing in the piece. This is the largest piece I have worked on, being 1.2 metres square and is a stepping stone to a planned 1.5m metre square piece to see how the inked foliage combines in scale within the image… more pictures to follow as the piece progresses.
