Live painting at Gallery 90

I’ve decided to take some stretched paper and my usual pencils inks and pens and of course a fine selection of  Tea to gallery 90 for the final weekend of Journey.  I’ll be there on both Saturday and Sunday 12-6pm making a new piece of work whilst people visit the gallery.  It’s something outside of my comfort zone – I normally like to be almost meditative when I work and I may even have to throw on a pair of headphones to be able to work but I think it would be a good experiment.. who knows how the work will turn out – I have nothing planned as yet as I am sure something will occur between now and then which drives the work.

So please – if you can – come along to Gallery 90, enjoy some bubbly & refreshments provided by the gallery (I’ll be on the tea!)

Hope to see you there

The E17 Art Trail – Exhibiting the Violence of flowers

I’m getting ready to show work in this year’s E17 Arts Trail.  I will be exhibiting a selection of work from the Violence of Flowers in the castle pub and will be bringing a portfolio of the remaining pieces on Thursday 8th for the private view. You will be able to pick up trail guides at the Castle Pub to see make your way around the 130 or so exhibitions which form the E17 Trail!!

Thanks to those of you who managed to come along to the preview in Leytonstone where the mural drawing undergrowth was displayed last week- if you were unable to make this show I do hope you’ll be able to join me on the 8th of September for a few drinks!

Also available at the castle will be a collection of postcards and giclee prints of work available to buy from £5 to £75 – Hope to see you during the Trail –

if you can’t make the show and are interested in the work, or prints they are of course available here.!!

Cheers – Carne

Nature’s Healer

New piece of work breaking down anatomical shapes into more abstract areas, not wishing to move away from the figurative but trying to incorporate successfully automatic and subconscious mark making alongside figurative drawing – starting to take shape I think..
