Neon Tears by Carne Griffiths

Nature’s Healer

New piece of work breaking down anatomical shapes into more abstract areas, not wishing to move away from the figurative but trying to incorporate successfully automatic and subconscious mark making alongside figurative drawing – starting to take shape I think..

Spring..

Experimenting with masked out shapes and bird forms. I have included the sketch and mid point work on this piece to give an idea of development.

Flower of Life – Lightbox

Back from the Signal Gallery’s private view showing Dan Baldwin’s work – Stunning new canvas piece ‘Cyclone’.
Thought I’d publish the image of the first large scale backlit drawing ‘Flower of Life’.  The final piece will be housed in a large lightbox (yet to be designed and built)

Sacred Nature

New piece of work exploring our relationship with nature growing organically but constructed around geometrical forms.  Following an accident with a large cup of tea and a plan chest full of drawings!!  Spilling tea on the page is a large part of my work at the moment but this mornings accident very nearly wiped out all of my recent pieces – Transferring to the portfolio now.

Off to New Orleans

It’s been a busy few weeks organising the 100sqft exhibition and Arts After Dark exhibition in New Orléans, I have chosen three pieces to show at Arts After Dark and these include The Harvest, Rose and Acceptance from my recent series of drawings – I will also be showing some new light box pieces there.

Rose - finished image

Acceptance - work in progress

Also coming up are a collection of lightboxes and illustrations for send me a postcard darling, http://www.sendmeapostcarddarling.com
