Looking forward to getting involved with this years LAT – particularly with 100sqft but also with the great ‘let’s fill leytonstone with art’ which encourages individuals in the borough to display artwork in their windows.
Sounds like a great idea and a great opportunity to play with the lightbox idea on a large scale!! looking forward to see what people show!

In the dark
And the effect with the light on… you can see the stamp and circular mark made by the wax embossing stamp along with the address information, and writing…
I think this could make an interesting concept for a project allowing the piece to change depending upon the lighting conditions – whereby in the day the images reflect normality and at night they reveal the full picture…
Postcard development
After visiting the fantastic drawing exhibition at the British Museum I was particularly struck by the effect of lighting on some of the double sided glass frame pieces. I noticed that as people moved about the gallery obscuring the light on the backs of the frames it enabled the viewer to see either one or both sides of the image simultaneously. I thought that would be a great way to display the postcards that Royal Mail had managed to get back home safely. – This image shows the housing which contains one of the postcards, it is fitted with a pull cable light attached to a washer …. kind of a miniature lightbox
Postcards
Going to entrust these to royal mail to see how they journey ….
Just hope they find their way back home safe
Scribbles
Had little time to be creative with organising the next 100sqft launch but wanted to post some postcard scribbles from this evening – think I might send them out randomly through the post tomorrow ….
